Dr Sketchy

Sketches done at Dr Sketchy's Anti-Art School Burlesque Life Drawing Sessions.

December 2009's Dr Sketchy

I was worried about being late for this one, but the models ended up being late, too, so Aliza posed for most of the short beginning sketches until the models made it and finished dressing.

As part of their costumes skits, one of our models wished for something for Christmas (while tied up).

Unfortunately, I'm going to miss January's event, as I'll be flying back from a short trip to MD.

Dr Sketchy performs Molly Crabapple's book

This month Johnny Blazes and Madge of Honor reenacted scenes from Molly Crabapple's "Scarlett Takes Manhattan".

I feel kinda rusty, still. Need to do this more regularly.

Dr Sketchy's - Kitty Fox

It's that time of month again!

This month's model was Kitty Fox.
The backwards-over-a-chair thing seems to be catching on. It's nifty.

Then she got a ukulele.

Mm, piraty-goodness.

I didn't feel like I was really up to snuff, but I know I wasn't the only one having trouble capturing her face. I'll blame my not having sketched around the house, or friends at parties lately.

Dr Sketchy's in August

Our models this month were Gigi Frost and Little Red Coquette.

I finally managed to convince a bunch of my friends to come this month, too, which was lots of fun. None of them had been there before, and at least some would like to join me again.

A Nerdy Dr Sketchy's

Yesterday we had a very nerdy Dr Sketchy's. Our model was Devilicia D'Amour (and I kept drawing her legs too short). She came in in head-to-toe silver costuming and body paint, and dressed as Robo Marie Antoinette with an iPod.

After much stripping we switched from 1/2 minute poses to 5, and she brought out her Cyberman helmet and Sonic Screwdiver. Only a few of us got the reference, I think, but it was much enjoyed by all.

Then we had some 10 minute poses with a dude wearing a monster head and playing a guitar, but his poses were limited (although he was playing for us), and I was glad when the silver lady came back, this time with a space suit and some tubing.
The zombie/monster/alien ate her arm, and then she took him out with some laser beams.

The silver was a lot of fun to work with, but I lost a lot of detail in places where her costumes just became too crinkly to clearly differentiate everything. But she was all shiny.
Inspired by Aliza's (the person who runs the local Dr Sketchy franchise) vague plans to try and have an art show of Dr Sketchy drawings sometime, somewhere, Steven and I were discussing possibilities of my making cheap prints of the sexy Cyberwoman to see if I can put up with my other stuff at Pandemonium (probably not familyfriendly enough, though), and/or have available at Pi-Con. He also thinks I should try doing some paintings from them.
