Out The Window

In late 2010 I was invited to participate in the 24 Hour Comic Challenge at Free Lunch Studios. Having tried my hand at sequential art comic style a few times and not found it to be my thing, I was at first uninterested. But then it occured to me I could tell a story in full page illustrations, not panels, and I could even skip dialogue! I'd done something similar for Pursuing Inspiration, afterall. At this point I was psyched to try, and decided on felt tipped pens and watercolors.

It was a great time, and I think I look forward to trying again. The Free Lunch guys offered to have anyone's "comics" printed up, and I took them up on their offer. I redid all of the pages since my original didn't have much in the way of "camera angles", and I thought it could use some more dynamic shots, and detailed backgrounds. It was printed up on glossy paper, folded and stapled to 7x8.5. The originals were larger on American Masters paper.

Out The Window tells the story of a young girl's adventures with her "stuffed" dragon. It is available for sale on Etsy.
